I had originally posted this on a different forum but figured I would try to share the knowledge with everyone else.

I'm not sure if anyone has wondered or even noticed but the default screenshot quality is complete crap right now. They changed the format to jpeg from tga when BC came out and it DRASTICALLY reduced quality. I found an article on wowwiki regarding this and how to fix it.

For anyone who doesn't want to look at that page,
For tga format (requires more advanced programs to view such as photoshop, ifranview, paintshop, etc.,)
/console screenshotFormat tga

For higher quality jpeg images (slightly larger file sizes with better quality)
/console screenshotFormat jpg
/console screenshotQuality 10

To reset back to original quality (As it is currently by default)
/console screenshotFormat jpg
/console screenshotQuality 3

For these changes to take effect, you have to completely close out of WoW and restart.

As for viewing the TGA format images, you will need a program that supports the format. You can use Photoshop, Paintshop, etc., but a program I've used since prebc is IrfanView.
